Dark Side of the Moon

I just found out that Roger Waters is touring this fall (September) and he will be playing "Dark Side of the Moon" in its entirety. Figuring most of my friends would be interested by this production (i'm looking in your direction, Brenden), I wanted to open this up to all. I was looking at the show in Camden, NJ on Sept. 16th. Tickets are only $30. Drop me a line if you want to be involved, but do it soon as tickets go on sale in a few days and are expected to go quickly.

¡Que pasa!

Damas y caballeros, Ladies and gentlemen, fraulines and gentlemanns,

All of the posts lately have been over the top, wish I was crazy as the australia nz dc folk. Ok, so i went to another VERY remote lowland jungle/beach (Corcovado national Park)... yadda yada It was cool I saw a lot of animals with no english names. intense Smelly backpacking. fun. Got jacked in a San Jose bus terminal beforehand. Goodbye iPod, Camara, bug spray, those delicous fruit and nut bars from natures valley, etc. Not to mention the top portion of my hiking pack, which is now somewhat handicapped. We had been so many places together, too. Life goes on.

My program here ends June 10th. I have decided to stay here over the summer and not do the whole FLY thing again. I am proabably going to work for Habitat for Humanity which will cover enough for food and living. I am pretty much done exploring the country and will spend most of the rest of my free time surfing. Will get back to school a few days before class. What is everyone else doing? I guess a lot of peoples programs end later? Also, looking for a DC sublet.

Rob

If you haven't seen it...

You have no excuse!

"Wow! Wow, what an honor! The White House Correspondents' dinner. To actually -- to sit here at the same table with my hero, George W. Bush, to be this close to the man. I feel like I'm dreaming. Somebody pinch me. You know what? I'm a pretty sound sleeper; that may not be enough. Somebody shoot me in the FACE. Is he really not here tonight? Damn it! The one guy who could have helped."

It is Stephen Colbert speaking for 20 minutes at the White House Correspondents Dinner. In what can only be called a ROAST, Colbert conducts the entire address in his Colbert Report character. Here is what Gawker thinks of this event, as they are much more eloquent than I.

OK, if you're not interested yet, let me bring duty into it. Yes, duty. You see, mainstream media hasn't given Colbert the attention he deserves (no surprise there, he did cut pretty deep into their sludge veins). Consider Democracy Now's blurb (it's followed by a transcript for those who can't access the video). Before the Web, this little incident would be easily "handled" by the White House, but now, people with the Web will watch, laugh, and sit on their asses, and the people without the Web will still vote republican. Shit. Well, anyway, tell your friends - maybe there's hope?

OK, if you're still not convinced, and shame on me if you aren't, look at the comments for this post. I'm sure lots of great people will help Democracy by encouraging you to view this little chunker of American History (with a Capital "h" because we're writing it, damnit).
